Richie Redding – #1 Album of the Year

$8.95

Richie Redding planned to record a live album at Miami’s Comedy Inn on March 14th, the day the state went into lockdown. Redding nearly backed out of the gig, thinking coronavirus would keep people home.

Instead, he called the club’s owner, Mike Levine, who said, “You’re not going to believe this but we’re sold out, dude. Miami is crazy!” Assured by Levine that all safety measures were being taken, he agreed to honor the gig. Unbeknownst to him, it would be his last show before a nationwide quarantine went into effect.

Who goes to a late night comedy show when the rest of the country is shutting down for a pandemic? Comedy die-hards and hammered MAGA’s! As a result, #1 Album of the Year has Redding wrangling an absolutely raucous crowd (forced to sit one seat apart) with an all-new hour of honest, vulnerable, and at times, brutal material.

“It was one of the weirdest nights of my 16-year career. There was an odd sense of indifference to doom; their own mayor tested positive that day. The result was an authentic night in the trenches of comedy.”

His stand-up has been featured on AXS TV’s Live at Gotham and Kevin Hart’s LOL. He can be heard weekly on his podcast, We Don’t Deserve Dogs. His festival appearances include Montreal’s JFL, HBO Comedy Festival, Windor Comedy Festival and the winner of the Bermuda International Comedy Competition. Many of his fans know him as “the white guy that tours with Katt Williams,” having toured arenas such as The Barclay Center and Staples Center with Katt for five years.
